What's in a Name?
So with a new car comes a new name. Now naming my 2005 V6 Mustang was pretty easy. My wife, Tammy, told me one day, "You spend more time and money with that car than me! You might as well have a mistress!" And with that the Mistress was born! With the new 2010 V6 Camaro.... well... I knew she needed a name but nothing really stood out. Until...
So one fine afternoon I was out tinkering with the Camaro. I was working in the engine bay, seeing if I could perhaps improve the air intake a bit. Well, during my fiddling I scratched my left arm in a couple of places... No big deal. That was Thursday afternoon. On Friday the little scratches started to get pretty red and started to itch. Ok, so the scratches have a little infection in them. Still, no big deal. Saturday comes along. Redness has now spread way past the couple little scratches. Oh, did I mention my arm is starting ITCH like crazy!!! Ok, little infection. Put some Neosporin on and everything will be ok! I'm a big tough guy after all, right?
Sunday... Arm is swollen, very red and the itch... well... some how the itch has gotten even worse! My lovely bride is now yelling at me to stop scratching and insists I go down the street to the Urgent Care clinic. ARGH!!!! I'm a guy, I don't need to see a doctor... But then I look at my arm again and think, hmmm... maybe seeing a doctor isn't such a bad idea after all, so off I go.
Now I'm in the exam room. Doctor comes in. Show him my arm and I say, "I think it's infected". He gives it a quick once over and explains it's not an infection, it's a "reaction". Oh, great! I'm allergic to my CAR!

Doctor asks me if I've been out in the woods, because it looks like poison ivy... No. Just working on the car and... then it hits me! The car has a name!!! Her name is...

Now of course some of The Coasters song "Poison Ivy" is quite fitting! For example:

So yeah... Her name is Ivy.... Poison Ivy...
